The joy of looking for a new job, oh how I hate you.
About three weeks ago I received a letter from Service Canada starting that I had to attend a employment information session which would be held on March 13th. My immediate thoughts were; REALLY! You got to be kidding me. I had only been unemployed at the time of the letter for 6 weeks and hadn't even received any money yet. Though as of yesterday I did received $114. I really hope that at my next report to EI (employment insurance) that I will have received my full amount as one can not live off of $114. Also since I owe a friend a lot of money for an accident (will talk about in another post), I really need the money.
So I went to this information session today and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Learned some interesting things, one you need to keep a record of your job searches for six years. What I also found interested is Second Career and Apprenticeship program. Oh the dreams to have a new career and not have to do office administration work again, one can dream. But then I think; do I have a baby now or start a new career and wait 5 years for another one. I really don't know what I should do. I will have pray and think about this.
So for the actual job searching it isn't going great, I haven't had any interviews or any recruiters contacting me about jobs. Not that I really want to go back to work but it would be nice to have money. I need to go back that way I can have maternity leave for the next child.
Anyway that's all for now.
Chantal
